Hey, I'm back..

Well just to update everyone, I'm planning to have another digital perm at Mr. Shin's Beauty Brick Salon this month.
My hair is already waist-length and I think that's perfect.

Before I get my hair done, here is one of my preparations:
1. Daily treatment conditioner like Dove and Creamsilk
2. Salon treatment to moisturize hair

I will have another post next month after my digiperm and hope to see you again..

My Favorite Lipstick : Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick in Top Tomato (A Review)

I just like to share this lipstick that I just recently discovered. I've been looking for a red lipstick that will suit my routine as a busy working mom. As you know, I don't always have the time to do retouch. Anyways, I only wear lipstick and brow liner on my face (aside from the moisturizer) and nothing else. I don't feel complete without them.

One time, I had a chat with a colleague in the washroom. I saw her brushing her teeth as a usual routine and then I observed her lipstick doesn't go away while brushing. So out of curiosity, I asked her what she wears and told me that it was Revlon ColorStay Ultimate and emphasized NOT JUST COLORSTAY, its ULTIMATE!

Since I still have my Mary Kay Lipstick in Red Salsa that I also love, though does not stay that long, I wait until my old lipstick almost run out and then I buy this Revlon.

When I first used it, since it was liquid and need to wait for it to dry, some of it stained my teeth that I need to removed it thoroughly with a tissue, if it still wet and I smiled in the mirror. If you happen to exceed a little lipstick on your lips, it is really difficult to remove it so be very careful and remove it immediately before it totally dries up. Since the lipstick can last absolutely the whole day with a very very minimal, or almost no touch ups, at night when you sleep, you might need to have a good make up remover that does not dry your lips to removed it. You can also use petroleum jelly to removed it. I tried removing it by brushing my lips with my toothbrush and the lipstick stained my toothbrush and its really hard to remove it so I just dispose my toothbrush!

I also observed that when I ate very oily food, the lipstick fade a little specially in the area near my mouth or in the middle. And leave my lips as if I'm wearing a lip liner.

You can also top it with you favorite lip gloss to may it shiny.

So far, this is my favorite lip stick and my favorite shade will always be red ... :)

Baby Care Tips: Ringworms, how to treat them...

Recently, I have noticed something on Gareth's skin. I not sure what it is but I think its some kind of a skin irritation, and maybe some kind of a fungal skin disease like ringworm.

At first, I just ignored it thinking that it will just go away on its own. But then I noticed that it spread on some part of his body. I got worried and as always, I looked on Google to at least know what I'm worried about.

What are Ringworms?

Ringworm is a contagious fungal infection of the skin. It's called ringworm because the infection appears as a rash in a ring or round shape. It can be itchy, but it's not painful or dangerous. It's the same fungus that causes athlete's foot. It's common in children and usually affects only the body or scalp

What does it looks like?

If you think your baby has a ringworm, she will have rash of one or several red rings on her chest, stomach, thighs, or back which will be crusty or scaly on the outside and smooth in the middle. They may also feel itchy. As the fungus grows, the rings get larger, ranging in size from a few millimetres to a few centimetres.

Ringworm can also affect your baby's scalp. It usually appears as dandruff or bald spots. It can be dry and crusty, or moist and filled with pus. It is easy to confuse ringworm with dandruff or cradle cap.

How did my baby got ringworm?

The ringworm fungus would have entered our baby's body through broken skin, such as a cut or scratch, or a patch of eczema. He might probably got it from an infected person or pet, or from touching contaminated sheets, towels, toys or clothes or even from infected soil if she was crawling around in the garden or park.

While scalp ringworm is much more likely to have been passed to your baby from another person, from sharing a hairbrush, hat, bedclothes or towels. Shared public facilities, such as swimming pools, or changing room showers are also potential sources of ringworm infection.

How to treat baby's ringworm?

Baby's ringworm should clear up if treated it with an over-the-counter antifungal cream, the same type of cream used for athlete's foot. Look for a product with one or two per cent of clotrimazole or miconazole. Don't forget to ask your pharmacist for advice.
Smooth a small amount of the cream over and a little bit beyond the infected area twice a day. Carry on treating it for a further one to two weeks once the rash has cleared. Remember to wash your hands thoroughly afterwards to prevent passing the infection.

Some children are sensitive to these creams, so try using a little bit of the cream first to see how your baby's skin reacts.

If a rash develops in response to the cream, take your baby to the doctor. Your doctor will suggest alternative creams.

Ringworm should get better with treatment within about four weeks. If your baby's ringworm carries on longer than this, take her to the doctor.
If your baby has ringworm on her scalp, this can be more difficult to treat using a cream. See your doctor, who will probably prescribe an antifungal tablets and a medicated shampoo.

Hygiene is also important to help remove ringworm fungus around and inside the house:
  1. Gently wash and dry the areas of ringworm on your baby's body. Take care with the areas between the toes and skin folds. Wash your hands thoroughly afterwards.
  2. Wash your hands after applying antifungal cream or shampoo to your baby's skin.
  3. Keep your baby's towels, sheets, clothes, hairbrush and toys separate, and wash them frequently to remove ringworm fungus.
  4. Dress your baby in loose fitting cotton clothes that cover her legs and arms.
  5. Keep your baby's fingernails short to prevent her scratching and spreading the infection to other parts of her body.

Can ringworm cause any complications?

Occasionally ringworm can spread to another part of your baby's body. If it appears on her scalp there's a small possibility it could cause slight scarring or hair loss.

Ringworm can sometimes lead to a secondary infection by bacteria or another fungus. Your baby may need antibiotics if she develops another infection. Take your baby to the doctor if your baby develops other rashes or symptoms.

How to prevent having ringworms?
  1. It's hard to protect our baby from having ringworm, but there are a few things you can do to keep it from spreading further:
  2. Tell your friends and family your baby has ringworm so they can check to see if they have been infected.
  3. Take your pets for a check-up at the vets if you notice crusty bald patches of skin, which is a sign of a ringworm infection. Also take them to the vet even if there are no signs of infection. Animals can sometimes carry the fungus without showing any signs of it.
  4. Make sure everyone in your household washes their hands frequently.
  5. Wash everyone's bedding, towels and clothes, and wash or throw away any hairbrushes or clothes what could be infected.
  6. If your baby has ringworm on her scalp, treat all family members with antifungal shampoo.

You probably noticed that I haven't post anything in the past few weeks..
Just been busy with a lot of things from home and work giving me a lot of stress. Now I can say that I gained some pounds which I will again try to loose.

As they say, don't deprive yourself when it comes to the food you like to eat, even on a diet.
Sometimes I feel like eating this one, and yes, it's my favorite.

Now let me share you one of my favorite snacks at home, NACHOS :)

What you will need:
1. Box of nacho - you can see them at supermarket
2. Ground beef - this depends if you like eating a lot of meat vs.  some veggies

5. Garlic, 4 cloves
6. Onion, 1/2 cups
7. Soy sauce, 1 tbsp.
8. Pepper,Chili Powder, Ground Cumin - add according to taste

10. Grated Cheese - depends if you like a lot of it

How to prepare:
1. Saute garlic and onion, add ground beef and cook for 5mins.
2. Add soy sauce and cook for another 3mins.
3. Add tomato, cook for 3mins.
4. Add pepper, chili powder and ground cumin

5. Cook for 3mins then set aside
6. On a plate, arrange the nachos
7. Mix the cooked beef with the lettuce. Pour over the nachos
8. Squeeze some Chiz Whiz on top
9. Sprinkle the grated cheese

**You can also try not to cook the tomatoes. Just mix it with the lettuce and the cooked meat.

Swatch Touch - a simple gift for myself :) (Swatch Touch Review)

Last February 4,2012, my husband and I went to a mall somewhere in Alabang. We passed by Swatch stall and noticed this watch..
I actually don't have any plans on buying this watch but I really like to have a silicone or plastic strapped watch because I usually have metal watches.
So when I saw this, it just captures me and feel like buying it for myself.

**This is s review for Swatch Touch**

Swatch Touch is made by Swatch Swiss watch company. This is a digital watch, having no hands nor any mechanical parts that ticks. Instead, it is digitally operated via its touch screen interface which lets users to modify its settings and operate it.
For its material composition, the watch itself is made of plastic and the straps are made of silicone with notches on its back giving extra grip on your skin especially if you are sweaty like me. As for my experience and observations, the touch screen is protected by a screen surround which is somewhat elevated by a few millimetres. Some dirt got captured by its edges due to the elevation

When you heard of a touch screen device, you usually think that all part of its screen are touch sensitive. But for Swatch Touch, only the bottom portion of its screen is touch sensitive. It has three buttons to control. To activate it, you need to touch the left and right screen buttons and then the middle button is used to set it like an "OK" button. To access the features, you have to scroll it sideways. I actually experience difficulty in setting this watch that I just let it in the Time 1 Zone all the time.

Add caption

Packaging also adds appeal to buyers. It is enclose in a plastic box like this one with a Swatch engrave on its sides.

Features of this watch includes:
Time 1 and 2, which lets you have 2 time zones

For the cost, I bought this for Php 6,000. I think, its features and being "touch screen" makes this expensive.

As you can see in the picture on the right side, the biggest number is the second, left digit is the hour ans right is the minute. the three bars below is where you will control it.

For my overall experience, I think this is a good watch, though its really hard to control and access the features. I also think not all watch users really use the features of this watch. like for example the alarm clock  which most of us uses our cell phones as an alarm in the morning which is much practically easier to set, use and reliable. The beep of this watch is not loud enough to wake me up in the morning :)
Although this watch really looks great and a lot of my peers noticed it, I still think there are a lot more watches out there that looks good but not as expensive as this one.

To add in this review, the touch screen buttons of my NEW watch is not functioning since the last 3 days that I tried to activate it. I actually activated the touch screen since Feb 11 and never activate it anymore. :(
I'm going to bring this watch today at Swatch Stall where I bought it :(

Achieving my New Year's Resolution- A Slimmer Body: 2. Healthy Living, Healthy Diet : Whole Wheat Cereal + Low Fat Milk

Eating right and eating healthy is also important in achieving my goal this year.
Though exercise really improves and tones our body, a good diet is also necessary.

I’ve realized that no matter how much I exercise if I’m not eating right, I will not really achieve my goal.
So I started to eat a lot of veggies and fruits every day.
I also cut my meals at dinner.

A lot of people says that eating less at dinner will also keep you fit.
This is because our body is going into the rest or sleep mode that it cannot digest the same way as it did the day time.
For my diet, I usually eat late for my breakfast. Almost lunch that its already brunch. I eat usually 9-10 in the morning for my brunch. I don’t have any morning snacks.

And the afternoon by 2-3, I eat my afternoon snacks.
At dinner, I usually eat a lot..But that’s before I decided to have a diet.
Now I eat less. What I have for dinner is just about some whole wheat cereals and low fat milk with some veggies and sometimes, fruits.
I don’t know  if this will work for me because it’s difficult to really follow on  a strict diet.

I’m into this Whole Wheat Cereal and Low fat milk diet at night.
I can’t follow its recommendation to have it at breakfast.
In its packaging it promises "show your shape in 14days"
But that's if you eat this at breakfast and dinner in which its kinda difficult for me.

I think, even if you're not into this type of diets, you'll still loose even an inch if you just cut your meal even a little during dinner. :)

Any ways, I hope this will help me achieve my goal this year.
